Lisa started painting motorcycles not long after the girls. The custom paint designs on the bikes are from Lisa's mind. Since the bikes, and since other projects, take a bit longer to complete I'm just giving you the month and year it was completed. Again I am running in chronological order and only showing the art we have permission to display.

Dragon Bones

This was Joe's bike. He is a friend of ours who wanted something different done to his bike. I think we succeeded.

I can describe what is here but there was so much color changing paint used that it was almost impossible to get an accurate picture.
Joe sold the bike less than a month after it was done. Much to his surprise. We think he just got tired of cops pulling him over to look at the paint job.
The happy new owner is Paul. It seems his wife Crissy thought this would be the perfect 21st anniversary gift.
After seeing him on the bike we tend to agree.
This bike won best paint in it's first show in Temecula in June.

An actual update to this file. Here is a picture of Paul with his trophy that he won in Laughlin in '05 for the bike.

Sons and Roses

This is Jackie's bike. The first set of photos show the graphics that she had put one in Laughlin 2 years ago. She wasn't particularly happy.
The second set is the paint that Lisa designed and applied. The three rose theme was a wish to honor her 3 sons. The base paint is a cyan to purple color changing paint. It is very hard, almost impossible, to capture in a photo.
Lisa made a stupid comment about how the stock license plate looked lame on the back fender. This prompted a removal of the plate and rear tail light, filling the gaping hole that this left and the ensuing bodywork. And Lisa got about 6 square inches of canvas area, yielding the dragonfly.
Jackie's a bit happier now.

Bar Hopper

This little '88 Sportster was purchased from a friend of mine. Although it was mechanically in descent shape, we, Lisa and I decided to rework the bike with a patriotic theme. I molded the frame, painted it and the swing arm blue, painted the engine blue and painted the mag wheel blue then polished it.

If you take a close look at the primary and clutch covers you'll notice that they are not the standard chrome or satin aluminum. It gets some stares because people just can't figure out what is different about the bike.

Spider's Game

I bought this one for a song, story is the guy ran into the back bumper of a car at a stop light, took the bike home and parked it eleven years ago with a full tank of gas. Man was it in rough shape. The engine was in good condition, but everything control wise was frozen solid.
Ripped it all the way down and built it back up. Redesigned the back fender and fabricated a new hood over a Harley tail light. I cut the gas tank and swapped the sides to give it the scallops.
Lisa designed and did the painting, as usual.

Sure Leave

This is my bike. This is what it looked like for the past 5 years.
Not bad, but driving it for that long she is a little worn on the front paint.
kawasaki original

At the end of December 2004 Lisa (my wife) and I decided it would be fun to see if we could do something different with my bike. We're not the brightest people, ya know.
At the end of this little rant I'll show you the bike, but first I have to explain the intro on the first page.
It did take 8 months to complete. This had to do with designing the look of the machine and surviving Lisa's developing "adhesive capulitius disease". So halfway through this mess her left arm becomes locked down at her side by extreme pain. We're talking vicodin not helping pain. This lead to surgery on the shoulder and months of, you got it, painful exercises.
If you haven't figured it out yet, Lisa is the painter in this conflagration. Next is the growth on the ring finger of her right hand. We don't know who we pissed off.
In the mean time I'm learning metal working, hence the scars, along with burns from welding. Don't ask
Enough badgering the viewers, on to the pictures.

Lost in Thought

A commission job. Yeahhhhh! We met Whiskey at the Riverside Wednesday Night, Hot Rods and Harleys Show. He said he had a motorcycle shop and would like to have us do some work.
Lo and behold he did.
He had us come to his shop, Sanitarium Cycles, and described what he needed on the fender.
This is what we came up with -

She kinda looks like a girl I used to date.

Nooooo, I never dated this one. Her claws are sharper than any I've come across.

The detail she put into this is really amazing. I didn't know I had that many cracks in my head.

Devil's Bug

Okay, believe it or not this job was done for a Christmas gift.
This picture shows what the '66 VW bug looked like when we were told we were going to get the hood.

66 volkwagon hood 01

Not exactly the picture of a dream job.
When the hood was delivered by Whiskey (not his real name) it looked like this.

66 volkwagon hood 02

Okay now we have something to work with. Now this gift is for Whiskey's long suffering girl friend, his words not ours, Pam (probably her real name) of several years.

Now we have some character.

Here we have a great Christmas present. Not a conventional one but a truly original one.
Later dudes and dudettes.
Happy New Year.

Competition Piece

Lisa did this piece for a competition on her airbrush forum. Only one picture, but I think it is a good one.

Arrrrrrr Matey.
Update - Lisa is in the finals. Top four are going head to head.
Wish her luck.

Knives as Flames

Practice, practice, practice - this set of tin was painted five times, but the end result was worth all the time.

Look at the different pictures and you can see there is more than a tribal pattern here.

There is also a subtle under-flame painted in a color changing paint over a pearl base.

This stuff is too complex for me.

Fish's Coffin Ride

We had this tin for a while, the only stipulations that were given to us were:
1) Don't paint it Barney purple
2) It has to have a bat on it somewhere.
Seemed simple.
Nothing is simple, picked up the tin and frame and the poor guy lost his job.
So now I'm storing this and Lisa has been planning this for months. Thus a simple job becomes highly detailed.
coffin tank custom paint top
Long story short, Fish was as good as his word, got another job and we got to work.
When we met this young gentleman he was Crow's boyfriend (sorry to bring this up man). I mention this so you can see the stylistic link (it's Goth, okay).
coffin tank custom paint coffin tank custom paint rt
Since she had the time, Lisa decided to try some special elements on this bike. The purple has a blue pearl over it that when the light hits it just right you get a deep blue color over the purple. Very nice but almost impossible for me to photograph.
coffin tank custom paint on frame
My pictures don't do any of these bikes any real justice. I need a 40 foot white room to take good pictures of them. They are so shiny that all I seem to get are the reflections of everything around me. Hell it is hard enough to keep me from reflecting in the shots. No one wants that.
cut fender purple to blue
Okay, so the back fender is a bit unimpressive. Most of it is covered anyway. I just wanted you to see my custom cut on the tail. See I do do some work.

A Fireman's Friend - Oh Yeah and a Dragon too.

I think people are beginning to see what we are good at. Take a good look at this bike and tell me that we don't do fantasy bitchin'. I dare you. Okay we're pretty damn good at horror and pretty girls, but put them together and you got some good fantasy.
Larry, that's the owners name, requested that this be done for the West Coast Thunder on Memorial Day. That gave us a little over 2 weeks to do the test sketches and get the thing painted. We, well Lisa, got it done, and I cleared it on Tuesday and polished it Friday.
That's "just in time" delivery.

fireman fairing
Obviously took this picture when we finished it but before it was delivered.

Here are the details - details - details. Enjoy. Check out the smoke. Let's see how many people can figure out how Lee created this effect.

Here it is installed on the Fireman's Special Harley. This is after the Memorial Day run of West Coast Thunder in the parking lot. We like how it came out. Who can argue with a woman riding a dragon with a fireman's axe? Not me.

The Verdict is - Too Cool!

This bike's paint was designed for Andy who is a lawyer. Gives the title a little more meaning now doesn't it.

Andy's custom Harley 04 Andy's custom Harley 02 Andy's custom Harley 05
There is not an inch of this machine that hasn't been touched. Okay we didn't do the dashboard but I don't think that counts.
The overall design is that of a ancient statue garden that was covered by the ocean. There are color changing effects and marbleizing effects all through the design.
The front fender has a rendition of Lady Justice. He is a defense attorney - so she is peaking under the blindfold just a bit (wink-wink).
Also on the fairing are portraits of his 2 childern. This thing is complicated.

The saddlebags have a Greek temple on both sides with latin proverbs Latin go figure.

Sample Row

These are some of Lisa's different styles that she has been experimenting with in her "spare time". In a lot of cases we have seen, if you don't have a sample some people don't believe that you can do the art style.
Lisa can do some nice art styles.
Ya think?
