This is the area where I don't know where else to put things.
But some interesting things are here.
Temecula Chalk Festival (6-23-03)
Eye Protection That Just Looks Good (8-28-03)
Helmets That Push the Edge (4-28-06)
The Celtic Snowboard (4-28-06)
Even the Tailgate Has Attitude (6-02-06)
These are the latest things that have come out of Battledress. I don't really have any wise ass remarks here, give me time I'm sober.

This is a lamp. Yes a lamp, okay?
This is a commissioned piece. Our neighbor likes wolves. Stop, don't go any further.

These are hood ornaments. They normally go on the front of a car. With me?
This creation was done in Temecula California over a weekend. It was the first time that we did the chalk art in a competition. This design was created for some friends of ours patio. Due to circumstances that no one could control it was never finalized, so we used it here. The response was very good. It's nice to get the ego stroked by total strangers every once in a while.
This view is as high and angle I cound get using what was in the area. It is as close to the viewing angle of the people there saw it as I can get. You will note the distortion front to back.
Here we have the same view from a 17 foot ladder the organizers brought by at the end of the competition. The distortion is gone from this altitude. Pretty colors, eh? We didn't win anything - this time - next year ve vill be victorious!
Due to the popularity of our design, we were invited to San Diego by a small group having a block party to recreate the Sun/Moon. They covered our expenses down there, all the materials and a small fee. We met a very interesting group, had a wonderful time and would not have missed it for the world.
This is the link to the Hillcrest community and our day out - www.hillquest.com
go to LGBT Slide Show then Hop In the Hood, they have nice pictures.
These were created for the Newport Beach Blues Festival. They started out as a practice job that turned out well.
Eye Protection That Just Looks Good
This is my welding helmet. It was cheap before it was painted. Now I'm told it is worth a lot more.
Remember long ago when I mentioned that a friend of ours, Mark, bought a helmet off of Ebay for demolition derby? Well this is the final result.
I understand that this is years later and that with a production output this slow it may be a bit hard to keep a business running...
You have to know Mark. His "hobbies" are generally overwritten by business, and we've done some business with him in the past years. Besides he never did drive in the demo derby, so we were kinda off the hook here.
I come up with some strange ideas sometimes, and I was thinking about how to get a helmet with a complete image over it. This has been done several times by some innovative artists and I figured that if you can do it to a bus window you can do it to a motorcycle helmet.
You can see out of the visor ease enough. It appears like you are wearing sunglasses. Visability is good, but I won't wear it a night. Don't know if it is legal, I do wear it for the surprised looks. I'm soooo naughty.
More practice. This was a board that was broken. Broken in a way that I could fix and Lisa could paint the bottom. I know the top is normaly painted. Sue me. No one is going to do any shredding on this thing.
These are practice panels for different styles of the same skulls. It is front and back.
Practice, Practice, Practice.
Making art from discards. It speaks unto itself. This started out as a catch pan for a water heater. We changed it a bits.
Now out of inspiration we added "Little Brother". Hope you like the family.
Lisa, her sister and friend Pagent are opening a new art gallery in Williams Arizona and needed some new pieces to include in the Grand Opening so we created the "Little Brother" (above), the Sun/Moon burst and took a bunch of previously completed works to see how the art would move in a town that gets more than its share of interesting clients.
Williams is the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon", thus tourests of all ilks will be passing through that area.
Wish us luck.
Little jobs like these make Lisa happy.
